A live butterfly release at your wedding would make the most important event of your life unforgettable for you and  your  guests.			A  butterfly release is an exceptional way to capture a special place in the hearts and memories of all those who attend.

How does it work?

The butterfly box will arrive the day before your wedding. The only thing that you have to do is to keep the box in a cool place until you are ready to release the butterflies. Don’t worry about the butterflies in the mean time; while in the box they are sleeping, and they will only become active with daylight once the box is open.

There are two release options: either an individual release, where each butterfly is kept in a special envelope so they can be released individually; or a mass release with 20 or more butterflies released from one large box.

We will usually supply either Monarch and Swallowtail butterflies, depending on availability*. When released, these butterflies tend to stay within the area as they all have a slow, flapping flight. (Smaller butterflies when released tend to fly off very quickly, making it hard to see them.) Monarchs and Swallowtails are attracted to bright coloured clothes and flowers, and this behaviour should enable your guests to see them, photograph them and enjoy their beauty. 

* Please note: at certain times of the year our usual butterflies may not be available. In this event we will supply other species of large, colourful butterflies instead.
